I was born in the Isle of Man, and lived there before going to the University of Manchester to study Engineering.  My first job was with BT, who sponsored me to do an MBA at the Manchester Business School.  It was through BT that I moved to Madrid as an expat, before leaving the company in 2002 to set up my own business.

I have been a "serial entrepreneur" since then.  I'm a founding member of 3 separate startups, and am currently on my fourth, which is an AI initiative related to document and web based intelligence.  I also teach IT and Computing Science at the IE and Schiller Universities in Madrid.   This combines with bespoke technology training that I do on an ad-hoc basis for companies based in Madrid.

I volunteer as a listener on www.7cups.com , a mental health/emotional wellbeing site that people use to help them get through some of life's more complicated challenges.  I've learned a huge amount since I began almost 10 years ago, most of all the tremendous value of listening carefully and asking questions with genuine curiosity about the universe that every person holds within.

On a personal level I'm an accomplished musician, playing the alto and tenor saxophones in 2 separate big bands in the Greater Madrid region, as well as playing Jazz piano for my own personal entertainment!  I'm married with 3 grown up children.
